If you use the OS X firewall

If your computer’s firewall settings prevent you from using iTunes features such as music sharing, AirTunes, and Apple TV, you can change the settings to allow you to use these features.

Change your computer’s firewall settings (OS X Lion v10.7 or later)

  1. Open System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, and click Firewall.

  2. Click Firewall Options.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • If “Block all incoming connections” is selected, deselect it.

    • If iTunes is included in the list of applications, choose “Allow incoming connections.”

  4. Click OK.

Change your computer’s firewall settings (Mac OS X v10.6.8)

  1. Open System Preferences, click Security, and click Firewall.

  2. Click Advanced.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • If “Block all incoming connections” is selected, deselect it.

    • If iTunes is included in the list of applications, choose “Allow incoming connections.”

  4. Click OK.
