Purchase tagged radio songs

iPod nano (5th generation) and some third-party FM radios support iTunes Tagging, which lets you save song information that radio stations include in their broadcasts. You can then preview and purchase your tagged songs in the iTunes Store.

If you have an iPod nano (5th generation), your tagged songs are added to iTunes when you sync your device. To add tagged songs to iTunes from a third-party radio, you first need to sync them from your radio to your iPod. For more information, see the documentation that came with your radio.

To learn how to tag songs, see the documentation for your radio or device.

Transfer tagged song information to iTunes

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer and select your iPod.

  2. Click Sync.

Information about and links to the iTunes Store for your tagged songs are transferred to iTunes on your computer, and appear under Playlists, in a playlist called Tagged.

Preview and purchase tagged songs

  1. Choose Music from the Library pop-up menu, and click Playlists.

  2. To see a list of your tagged songs, select the Tagged playlist.

To hear a 30-second preview of a song before purchasing it, double-click the song’s title or click the Preview button Play icon inside a circle for the song.

  3. Click Buy to purchase the song.

If no Buy button appears, click View. The song’s album page opens in the iTunes Store.

Some tagged songs might not be available for purchase, and some songs might only be available for purchase as part of an album.
